supported Fuji On-the-Spot Digital Photo Contest

An
on-the-spot (OTS) digital photo contest open to all photographers
was staged by Fuji Phils. to help promote its line of digital cameras
and printing technology, this OTS also capitalizes on the wonders
of new technology, specifically wireless broadband Internet or Wi-Fi.
The venue for this event was Fort Santiago, a favorite backdrop for pictorials and scenic events. The event was held on June 16, from 3 pm to 6 pm. Over 50 photographers of all shapes and sizes participated in the contest.
Providing support is Ynzal Marketing Corp., which supplied Apple Macintosh laptops which were used for downloading the photo entries. These PowerBooks served as staging areas which allowed the photos to be transported via e-mail to a web-based email address. Wireless connectivity was provided by Airborne Access, through the facilities of PLDT myDSL, which set up a temporary Wi-Fi hotspot at Fort Santiago just for the event.
Most of the digital photos were delivered via email while the rest of the entries were stored in a CD. At the end of the day, a total of about 150 photos were submitted for the contest.
