25 May 2010
Adobe Creative Suite 5 was formally launched in the Philippines last May 25 at the AIM Conference Center in Makati City. Creative and IT professionals from various companies all over Manila, and even from the provinces, had a chance to take a sneak peak at the newest features of CS5. Nelson John, Adobe Creative Consultant from Singapore, presented the coolest new features of CS5. Notable features of the new Creative Suite are Photoshop CS5 Content-Aware Fill that can save digital artists a lot of time in rebuilding contents around a deleted or missing portion of a photograph. Print-to-interactive pages take a whole new meaning as InDesign CS5 makes it possible to convert static pages into interactive pages on a digital reader or the newest smart phones with the introduction of the new Flash Catalyst, making it possible to create interactive pages without writing code. But the biggest leap is with Adobe Premiere and After Effects with the incorporation of the new Mercury Playback Engine and native 64-bit support, dramatically improving rendering and overall workflow efficiency. The number of suites was trimmed down to five with the phase out of Web Standard. That leaves users to choose from Master Collection, Design Standard, Design Premium, Production Premium or Web Premium. But with over 250 new features in CS5, design, print and production professionals will have a faster and more efficient workflow. The audience was left wanting for more and Ynzal promises to do more targeted road shows in the coming weeks. In the meantime, here are the pictures from the Manila launch… |
